Sevabharathi understands the need of a homeless shelter and is working hard to make one a reality for those in need. We have taken this one step further by finding resources on a local level and servicing beneficiaries at the grass roots level via different divisions within the organisation. In addition, both the district and state agencies provide financial assistance to worthy housing developments.
Deseeya Sevabharathi conducted a house-building initiative with the help of the nonprofit organisation Seva International USA. It is the goal of the housing project to offer secure refuge for flood victims and the homeless by constructing homes on their property. The initiative was implemented in Kuttanad taluk, which is the most impacted region in Kerala, and helped 24 households.
Sevabharathi selected six contractors to guarantee that the project was completed on schedule. 19 homes were built in Alappuzha in seven months, and a major handover ceremony was conducted in the presence of officials from different sectors of society at the conclusion of the project. This initiative, which builds houses for homeless people and catastrophe victims, is a lifeline for both groups.
