TThiruvananthapuram : The activities carried out by Seva bharati to lead the lakeside hamlet of Kuzhiyan in Perunguzhi, Chirayinkeezhu, towards educational and social progress are noteworthy. Around 200 families live in this area, where the lack of higher education and substance abuse had contributed to backwardness. Many children had not even received basic education.
Recognizing this, Seva Bharati has been actively working in the village for the past four years after adopting it. Through the Sarathi Tuition Centre in Azhur, around 35 children are being provided with education and vocational skills training. As a result, the number of illiterate children has significantly decreased. The annual celebration of the tuition centre, “Varnotsavam 2026,” was inaugurated by Azhur Grama Panchayat President Keerthi Saiju. The program included various cultural performances and the distribution of certificates to those who completed tailoring training. A counseling session for children was also conducted.
