
TThrissur : As part of its self-reliance initiatives, Seva Bharati Chalakudy has launched the ‘Abhivruddhi’ Self-Employment Project, marking the beginning of its implementation. In the first phase of the project, 12 groups consisting of five members each were formed. Each group was provided with 12 varieties of vegetable seeds for cultivation. Sevabharati distributed 30 seeds to each individual, with a plan to cultivate the crops and market the produce in the first week of April.
Along with this, Sevabharati has also assured support for the establishment of a poultry egg production unit and a pickle production unit as part of the initial phase of the project. The inauguration ceremony was held at Sanatana Vanaprastha, Koodappuzha, and was presided over by Sri Peethabaran, President of Seva Bharati Chalakudy. The project was formally inaugurated by Dr. Harikumar, Retired Director of DRDO. Training sessions for the beneficiaries were conducted by Dr. Manoj Kumar (Retired Deputy Director, Department of Animal Husbandry) and Sri Satheesh Kumar (Superintendent, ARS Farm).
