IIf the scorching heat of the month of Medam is soothing the minds of pooram lovers, here it is. The gajaveerans, kudamattam and poora lovers gave double the sweetness to the beauty of the cultural city for the pooram, which welcomes the soil and the sky alike.
Sevabharathi and its activists were actively present in Puranagari this time too, without breaking the tradition of two decades of service.
Like in previous years, this year too, Sevabharathi was in Puranagari with a compassionate touch of service... Medicinal drinking water was distributed in many places in the poora area to quench the thirst for the stomach burning in the scorching sun.
45,500 litres of water was distributed at 9 centres. (Drinking water supply was held for two days at two centres). Vaidyaratnam Panamrita was used as a herb, with 1,82,000 beneficiaries.
The service of essential medical service centres in collaboration with health sector workers at three locations and medical teams from three hospitals in three centres worked with Sevabharathi. In addition, there was 2 days of medical activity at one centre and a total of 69 people were the beneficiaries. An ambulance service was also arranged for the Pooram and 9 ambulances were involved in pooram seva operations. The Sevabharathi ambulances were operated on the DMO system, there were 38 beneficiaries. There were two centres where annadhanam was performed. Annadanam was held from 10 am to 10 pm at old Nadakkavu Lakshmi Mandapam and from 10 am to 3.30 am at Chinmaya Mission Neeranjali Hall, 18,000 people were beneficiaries. Watermelon juice was distributed to 5000 people, including the officers associated with the pooram.
A team of 80 specially trained personnel, including the Disaster Task Force and women, were on duty for two days. As many as 604 seva workers participated in all service activities.
