TThrissur: The inauguration of the Palliative Home Care Project and the flag-off of the Palliative Vehicle were held under the auspices of Porkkulam Seva Bharathi. Kanippayoor Narayanan Namboothiripad Bhadra inaugurated the project by lighting the lamp at the M. S. S. Hall on Porkkulam Health Center Road. Dr. Sanjeev Vasudevan of Wayanad Amruthakrupa Charitable Hospital flag-offed the Palliative Vehicle. Porkkulam Seva Bharathi President Manojkumar Karumathil presided over the function. National Seva Bharathi State Secretary K. Sureshkumar delivered the keynote address. Rashtriya Swayamsevaka Sangh Division Karyavahak C. N. Babu delivered the service message. Kunnamkulam Seva Bharathi President V. A. Damodaran, Porkkulam Seva Bharathi Secretary Manikuttan, Treasurer M. A. Sudhesh, Health Convener P. A Shiju and Matru Samithi President Sudha Harshan spoke. Earlier, a vehicle puja was performed at the venue under the guidance of Melshanthi Krishnan Namboothiri of Kapoor Sree Lakshmi Bala Narasimhamurthy Temple. Free blood sugar, pressure and oxygen level checks and free insurance card registration of Rs. 5 lakh for those above 70 years of age under the Ayushman Bharat scheme were held on the occasion of the inauguration. Help desks of insurance schemes like Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bhima Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Bhima Yojana were also set up at the venue. Seva Bharathi's Palliative Home Care Scheme provides nursing care to bedridden patients, patients who need special care due to old age and other patients at their homes.
