TThrissur: A 10-cent plot of land and a building measuring approximately 3,000 square feet in size located at Mayannur in Kondazhi panchayat of the district were donated to Seva Bharathi. Dr. U. Nandakumar, who has been serving as a pulmonologist in the United States for a long time, dedicated this property, named after his parents Bhaskara Marar and Leela Marar, for comprehensive social service activities.

The family members took this great decision in memory of their brother Ramdas, who died fighting for the country in the 1971 Indo-Pak war. The desire to perpetuate the memory of his brother through social service inspired this good deed. Earlier, the RMC clinic that was operating in this building was a great relief for the local residents. This clinic, which provided free and low-cost medical services to economically backward patients, has changed the lives of many people.

With the acquisition of this land, Seva Bharathi has decided to further strengthen the existing health services and start various social and rehabilitation activities here. The center aims to implement medical assistance to especially poor patients, care for senior citizens, women empowerment projects, and Santwanasparsham Rehabilitation Center.

This land dedication by Dr. Nandakumar is a great example of service spirit in the society. Seva Bharathi office bearers opined that such activities of utilizing personal wealth for the betterment of the society will inspire more people. State Secretary K. Suresh Kumar received the land documents at the Seva Bharathi State Office.
