TThrissur: The distribution of certificates for the "Punarjani" mental health project, which is being run under the auspices of the National Seva Bharathi Kerala to provide loving relief to the increasing mental tensions in the society, was held in all the districts of the state on the same day. Certificates were distributed to 78 people who successfully completed the special "lay counseling" training organized in collaboration with NIMHANS, the country's renowned mental health research center.
Seva Bharathi has launched the 'Punarjani' project with the aim of providing primary psychological support and first aid to ordinary people experiencing mental difficulties. This project aims to provide necessary counseling services and awareness to various sections of the society facing mental distress, including families, students, the elderly, women, and drug addicts. At the function, which began with a prayer and lighting of the Bhadradeepam, Seva Bharathi General Secretary Dr. Sriram Shankar presented the 'Punarjani' project through a video message. This expert training provided by NIMHANS to Seva Bharathi workers who are actively involved in various sectors of the society will further strengthen their voluntary work in the field of mental health in Kerala in the coming days.
The Thrissur district certificate distribution ceremony was inaugurated by renowned music director and singer Ouseppachan. The meeting, chaired by National Seva Bharathi District Vice President Dr. Rishin Suman, was attended by Narcotics Control Bureau Cochin Zonal Director Venugopal G. Kurup distributed certificates to those who completed the training. National Seva Bharathi Kerala Vice President Sri P.K. Unnikrishnan, Organization Secretary K.V. Rajeev, National Seva Bharathi Thrissur District Treasurer Nof Teacher and National Seva Bharathi Thrissur District Secretary Geetha Teacher spoke.
