PPalakkad: The three-day palliative care volunteer training, which was being held at the Lakkidi Mangalam United Convention Center under the auspices of the National Seva Bharathi Palakkad District Committee, concluded. Mr. Jose Pulimoottil was the chief trainer. Dr. Sujith, former head of the palliative care department at the district hospital and director of the Palana Institute of Medical Sciences and Medical Education, conducted a class on the subject of ‘End of Life Care’. Sister Ajitha, palliative nurse of the Seva Bharathi Palakkad unit, conducted a class on the subject of how to care for patients in palliative care. The training included group discussion, presentation and demonstration. This is the second time that the palliative care volunteer training is being organized in the district. Certificates were distributed to 40 volunteers who completed the training.

At the closing ceremony, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh Palakkad vibag saha sanghchalak Adv. Jayaram delivered a service message, and National Seva Bharathi State Committee member Sita Shankar mentioned information about the activities of various palliative units in the district. National Seva Bharathi Palakkad District Secretary Durgadas Master expressed the vote of thanks.
