PPalakkad : Two-Day Palliative Care Volunteer Training Conducted in Palakkad. A two-day Palliative Care Volunteer Training programme was organized by the Palakkad District Committee of Seva Bharati on May 9 and 10 at Bharatheeya Vidyanikethan B.Ed College, Kallekkad. The programme was presided over by District Vice President Shri Sudhakar Angeppattu. During the inaugural session, Smt. Seetha Shankar, State Committee Member of Seva Bharati Kerala, elaborated on “Sukrutham Santhwana Vayojana Paricharana Padhathi,” an elderly care initiative being implemented by Seva Bharati Kerala. The training was led by Shri Jose Pulimoottil, National Trainer of the National Association of Palliative Care for Ayush & Integrative Medicine (NAPCAIM) and Project Director of the Palliative Care Training Programme of Seva Bharati Kerala. Sister Archana, Palliative Nursing Trainer of Seva Bharati Kerala, provided practical sessions related to patient care and caregiving.
Dr. Sreeram Shankar, State General Secretary of Seva Bharati Kerala, addressed the gathering and highlighted the growing need for palliative and elderly care in society, while also explaining the responsibilities and role of Seva Bharati in this field. The training was conducted based on a syllabus designed in accordance with WHO guidelines. A total of 36 participants successfully completed the training. Certificates were distributed during the valedictory function held on May 10. Shri A.C. Rajendran, District Vyavastha Pramukh of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, delivered the Seva Sandesham (message of service) during the closing session.
