& Thrissur : As a continuation of the online training classes being organized for lay counselors under the leadership of SevaBharati in collaboration with the Bengaluru-based NIMHANS (National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences), a two-day on-site training program was conducted. The training was held at the Seva Bharati State Office in Chembukkavu, Thrissur.
The program was conducted in two batches: the first batch on January 6–7 and the second batch on January 8–9, with lay counselors from various parts of the state participating. Experts led detailed sessions on topics such as the practical skills required for face-to-face counseling, the ethical and legal responsibilities of counselors, and methods to identify and manage high-risk mental health issues. The training served as an excellent opportunity for participants to gain greater proficiency and confidence in the field of counseling.
