
KKottayam: The reason for the increase in drug use is the increased availability of drugs. Speaking at the inauguration of the Kottayam District Committee formation session of the Anti-Drug People's Committee, Dr. Ganga Kaimal, Psychiatrist at Alappuzha Medical College, said that the reason for the increase in drug use in the society is the increased availability, and that compared to the past, most of the drug users are young people and children. The doctor also said that drug users today are more respected in the society.
The meeting, chaired by Adv. Santosh Kannanchira, was attended by retired ASP Sri J. Santosh Kumar, Sister Pankajam (Brahma Kumaris), Director of Darshana Father Emil Pulikattil, Sri Sunny Elamkulam (Sun India), Srikumar Sevabharathi, Sri MV Unnikrishnan, Sri Shijo Abraham and others.
The office bearers of the Anti-Drug People's Assembly in Kottayam district were announced by the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh Honorable Vibag Sanghchalak P. P. Gopi, at the meeting. The 51-member executive committee was announced at the meeting with Medical College Superintendent Dr. T. K. Jayakumar as the chief patron, retired ASP Mr. J. Santhoshkumar as the president, Dr. Benjamin George as the working president, and Mr. Shiju George as the general convener.
