
IIdukki : Santhwanasparsham Rehabilitation Therapy Centre Inaugurated in Idukki. The first Santhwanasparsham Rehabilitation Therapy Centre in Idukki district and the 11th centre in Kerala was inaugurated at Chakkakkanam, Nedumkandam, on 20 September 2026. The centre has been established jointly by Sevabharathi and the K. Chittilappilly Foundation. The centre was formally inaugurated by lighting the ceremonial lamp by Dr. Renjith Vijayahari, State President of Sevabharathi. Following the inauguration, a public meeting was held at the Sree Uma Maheshwara Gurudeva Auditorium, Nedumkandam. The meeting was presided over by Shri Saju Kumar G., President, Sevabharathi Nedumkandam. Smt. Shalini J., Secretary, Sevabharathi Nedumkandam, delivered the welcome address. Dr. Renjith Vijayahari delivered the inaugural address and keynote speech. Shri Shivaprasad C. S., Idukki District Media Coordinator, Sevabharathi, presented an overview of the Santhwanasparsham project.
As part of the programme, a land donation ceremony was also held. Shri Ravindran Nair and Smt. Maya Ravindran donated 15 cents of land to Sevabharathi, which was subsequently divided and allotted to three families. The title deeds were handed over jointly by Mananeeya S. T. B. Mohandas, Idukki District Sanghchalak, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh; Shri Robert Joseph, Idukki District President, Sevabharathi; and Shri Santhosh Kumar P. G., Idukki District General Secretary, Sevabharathi.
In connection with World Cleanup Day, sanitation workers from Nedumkandam town were felicitated as a gesture of appreciation for their dedicated service. The honours were presented by Shri G. Manoj, Khand Seva Pramukh, and Shri M. V. Jayan, Idukki District Secretary, Sevabharathi. Saleena Vahid, Radhamani Kunjumon, Kumari Sukumaran, Baby Vijayan, Deepa Sumod and Raheela Salim were felicitated. Students and young achievers who demonstrated excellence in the fields of education and sports—Shri Sunil Kuzhiveli, Jyothika P. P., Nandana Prasad and Christo Babu—were also felicitated by Dr. Renjith Vijayahari and Shri Santhosh Kumar P. G. Shri Jyothis S., Education Aayam Convenor, Sevabharathi Nedumkandam, proposed the vote of thanks.
Shri Satheesh Kumar, State Secretary of Sevabharathi and Coordinator of Santhwanasparsham, along with state and district office-bearers, Santhwanasparsham project representatives, Sevabharathi volunteers, social workers, public representatives and local residents, attended the programme.
The new centre marks another step towards providing accessible rehabilitation and therapy services to persons requiring specialised care and support, strengthening Sevabharathi's rehabilitation initiatives in Idukki district.
