AAlappuzha: As part of Seva Bharati’s ‘Jeevamrutham’ project, a blood donation initiative has been launched at the Government T.D. Medical College, Vandanam. Dr. Lakshmi, the Superintendent of the Government T.D. Medical College, inaugurated the blood donation program. With the objective of ensuring the availability of blood for critically ill patients undergoing treatment at the Medical College, the Alappuzha District Committee of Seva Bharati—in collaboration with its various local units—has established a system to facilitate regular, weekly blood donations. Seva Bharati has also taken on the responsibility of identifying and bringing in voluntary blood donors for this purpose. On the day of the inauguration, 12 voluntary donors from the Karthikappally and Thrikkunnapuzha units of Seva Bharati donated blood at the Vandanam Medical College. The ‘Jeevamrutham’ project aims to support life-saving efforts by ensuring that blood is available to critically ill patients whenever it is required.
