SSevabharathi Cherthala Unit celebrated the first anniversary of the mid-day meal distribution at the Government taluk hospital. The annual celebrations began with the distribution of mattresses with rexine covers to the hospital. A total of 54 covered beds were provided for the emergency and maternity wards. For the past one year, pothichoor has been collected from 35 wards of the municipality in the afternoon and distributed to the patients and bystanders of the hospital. For the past 15 years, Sevabharati activists have been distributing porridge and pulses in the evenings at the Government Taluk Hospital and the Government Ayurveda Hospital. The distribution of food to many poor patients who come to the hospital for treatment is a great relief. RSS district Sanghchalak , Retd. Col NS Rammohan handed over the beds to the hospital RMO Dr Ajmal. Seva Bharati President Prof. K.N.J. Kartha presided over the function and RSS Sabarigiri Vibhag Bauddhik Pramukh K.G. Santhosh Kumar delivered the keynote address. Sevabharati district organisation secretary S. Jayakrishnan gave the message of seva. Councillors Asha Mukesh, Rajashree Jyothish and Mithra Vindabhai spoke on the occasion. Sevabharati General Secretary Naveen Kumar welcomed the gathering and Treasurer Ajayan G Nair gave the vote of thanks. The mid-day meal was then distributed to the patients at the hospital.
