AA traveling library
Seva Bharati started a mobile library yesterday, a reading day, aimed at inculcating the habit of reading among children and adults in forest areas. The Aksharadeepam project enables books containing poetry, mythology, legend and history to be delivered to the homes of the needy to read.
The functioning of the traveling library is centered around the Kutchichal Atavacode Sarathi Tuition Center and Pothot Agastya Cultural Center under the control of Sevabharati. Priority will be given to those living in forest areas and backward colonies, and books of interest will be delivered to their homes. After reading, the book is taken back and given to the next person. The activities of the library are also coordinated among the children who are learners. It is also special that the traveling library does not have to pay the admission fee or monthly fee that is paid in regular libraries.
The main objective of the project is to develop social knowledge in forest dwellers through reading.
